Shadoh Punnapuzha

Shadoh is a born and bred New Yorker, botanical formulator, mother of two and founder of taïla. Leaving the financial world to honor her heritage, she channels a lineage of plant science learned from her botanist father and rooted in her family’s Kerala estate into high-performance skincare. Designing every formula in her private Lab, she utilizes Samyoga to bridge Ayurvedic methodology with absolute skin efficacy. This intentional "root-to-bottle" standard ensures each treatment restores the skin’s luminous vitality.

Heritage & The Living Pharmacy

Born and raised in New York, my heart has always been tied to my family’s estate in Kerala, India. A lineage of plant medicine spanning back to the 1600s. In my father’s time, the estate’s Vaidyan was a constant, guiding presence and I spent my years there immersed in that legacy. Walking the grounds with my father, a botanist, I developed an evergrowing hunger to understand the earth. He revealed the magical moments hidden within nature. The medicinal secrets tucked into a single leaf, the spirit of an ancient tree and the silent power of a blooming flower. Through his eyes, I learned that the estate was more than just land; it was a living pharmacy.

The NYC Catalyst

Though I built a life in New York and a career in finance, that childhood devotion to the earth remained a quiet hum in the background. It finally called me home when my skin began to react to the world around me, sudden allergies, eczema and hives. The realization was sharp and clear: the synthetic ingredients in the skincare I was using were the culprits. They were a direct contradiction to the living pharmacy I grew up with.

‎Turning back to Ayurveda wasn’t just a remedy; it was a revelation. Watching my skin heal through the same botanicals I had walked among as a child made me recognize the profound intelligence and potency of nature. I saw that these plants carried a complexity that no synthetic lab could ever replicate. In that moment of clarity, the magic I had felt in Kerala surged back to the surface. I left my career to pursue taïla, returning to India to move beyond memory and into mastery. Immersed in the alchemy of plant extracts and traditional formulation, I set out to bridge the wisdom of my heritage with the world I lived in.
