WITH Passion and Purpose

Just like that, an entire year has flown by and it’s time again to reflect on what you’ve learned about yourself in the past 365 days. A chance for new beginnings, your first instinct is to make this the best year yet by drawing up a masterful plan of the new and improved you: fitness guru, a bookworm, and a self-trained chef, all while traveling the world. But for most, New Year’s resolutions are broken before the champagne goes flat. Instead of dwelling on what you lack, manifest your aspirations with the power of affirmations.

What is an affirmation?

You’re using affirmations every moment whether you know it or not. Every thought, every word you speak is an affirmation and creates your life experiences. It is the way you channel both negative and positive energy into your life. Those little battles inside your head of internal dialogues, are streams of affirmations (so fight a little less in your head and kick those nasty thoughts).

Discerning your affirmation:

What is your motivation for change this year? Consider what you want to cultivate or invite into your life - what brings you the greatest joy, satisfaction, and energy? Your intuition will guide you.

Here are some examples of taking what you want in life and turning it into an affirmation:

Your Desire:
To put more effort on style and beauty.
Affirm with Positivity: I am beautiful and give myself the care and attention I need.

Your Desire: To lose weight.
Affirm with Positivity: I am grateful for my body and all it does for me.

Your Desire: To make more money and save more.
Affirm with Positivity: I am financially securing my future and prosper wherever I turn.

Your Desire: To take on new and exciting hobbies.
Affirm with Positivity: I create time for my hobbies and the activities I enjoy.

Your Desire: To travel more.
Affirm with Positivity: I am adventurous and resourceful.

Your Desire: To be less stressed and more balanced.
Affirm with Positivity: I am relaxed, calm, and centered.

Your Desire: To eat healthier.
Affirm with Positivity: I let go of unhelpful patterns of behavior around food.

Putting it into practice:

Declare your affirmations every morning. Whether you lay quietly in bed, take a moment in front of the mirror, or pause before you head out the door - find time to state your positive intentions. It can be said in your head, out loud, or written out next to your to-do list. Continue to recite them on your drive to work, waiting for the train that never seems to run on time, or even on an elevator. Proclaim your affirmations deliberately and make 2019 your year.

Wishing you a wonderful New Year filled with love, happiness, and all that you desire!

Light + Love,
